WHAT IS INCLUDED IN OUR SMA MEMBERSHIP
• Limited use of archery and safety equipment
• Access to the SMA club after membership requirements are completed

SMA CLUB MEMBERSHIP DETAILS
Southern Maryland Archery (SMA) Club Membership tenure is based on a calendar year. We have the following memberships:
(1) Annual Membership (January 01 - December 31)
(2) Bi-Annual Membership (July 01 - December 31)
The Bi-Annual membership option is not available for registration til June 1st and the membership start July 1st.1st.
NOTE: Membership gives you access to the SMA Club and amenities, but it doesn’t include practices, pro classes, private lessons, and coaching.
As a member, you will have access to various programs, events, and activities.
a. MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
FAMILY MEMBERSHIP
FAMILY OF 4 + $10 EACH ADDITIONAL MEMBER: Members consist of up to four (4) immediate family members to include at least one (1) parent/legal guardian or up to two (2) spouses. Dependent child(ren) must be under the age of 18 or full-time college student under the age of 22.
NOTE: Extended family members living in the same household doesn't meet the requirement as a Family of 4 Membership.
INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP: Members consist of individual memberships as an Adult, Youth, or Young Adult.
b. ARCHERY PROGRAMS FOR PRACTICES
The Program(s) listed below are needed to participate in archery practices. The archery practices are ongoing on a rolling basis meaning the level of archery experience does not matter when the archer joins our club because our club will provide the tools and training needed for those without archery experience.
Junior Olympic Archery Development Program (JOAD)
* $30 (first child) | each additional child is $10 each
The JOAD is program of USA Archery that is for any youth archer aged 8 to 20. It is designed to grow with the youth
archer.that helps archers to enjoy the sport recreationally or progress to the excitement of competition! JOAD offers barebow, recurve, and compound archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique in an environment that also fosters focus, increased self-confidence, and team-building skills.
Adult Archery Program (AAP):
* $30 (first adult) | each additional adult is $10 each
What does the Adult Archery Program offers the adult archer? In addition to receiving clear instruction and coaching via our National Training System, membership in an archery program provides unique benefits to adults, including the opportunity to continue to advance in the sport of archery, earn achievement pins and ribbons, a great upper-body workout, the chance to build self-confidence, and learn team-building skills. And...archery fun and friendships!
c. MAINTENANCE & UPKEEP FEE | $140 (Add to the Membership Cost)
Volunteering comes with some perks! With busy lives, it can be hard to find time to volunteer. However, the benefits of volunteering has enormous benefits to the SMA Club. We have an app that will help us to track your hours of work so you can earn opportunities for perks.
d. EQUIPMENT NEEDS
If you don't have archery equipment, then don't worry. You can utilize the SMA Club's equipment as we navigate which bow you are comfortable shooting. Our archery equipment is available is you've signed up for JOAD and/or AAP for a limited timeframe. Archers are encouraged to purchase their own archery equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in your membership?
When you purchase a membership it gives you access to our club, but it does not give your access to the practices. Unless you are a current member, then it is highly recommended that you ADD ON JOAD and/or AAP to your membership because these are our practices.
What is JOAD and AAP?
These are programs under USA Archery that we sponsor at our club to teach the fundamentals of proper shooting forms, techniques, and the foundation for your archery experience. We have practices are for beginners through advance. The Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) is for ages 8-20 and our Adult Archery Program (AAP) is for 21 and older. Everyone is an archer!
How often are your practices?
Every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
What do I purchase?
Here is an example and breakdown of a new membership for a Family of 4.
Annual Membership Dues for a Family of 4 is $130 + Registration Fee $40 + JOAD (1 child) $30 + Maintenance & Upkeep fee $140= Total due is $340.00.
- Dues includes a one-time registration fee of $40 for new members.
- Membership is based on an annual calendar year (January 1 to December 31) or bi-
annual (July 1 to December 31). Bi-annual membership is not available til June 15th.
What is volunteering at the SMA Club?
Each member must volunteer a minimum of 10 hours (annual membership) and 5 hours (bi-annual membership). Volunteering includes, but not limited to supporting our club i.e. concessions, mowing, weed whacking, mopping, setup and/or clean up for events, handyman type of work, etc. SMA Club is a membership club so volunteering is very important.
